Kalaimanokahoʻowaha

Kalaimanokahoʻowaha

Also called Kanaʻinanui or just Kanaʻina. His title of "nui" was from birth as his father, Keaweopala who was killed by Kalaniʻōpuʻu. This chief has a sister from his mother, Moana (w) with a similar name but slight difference in spelling. The name is from chief kahoʻowaha. Several figures carry this name. Kaleimanokahoʻowaha (w) (Kanaʻina's sister) is my 5x great grandmother and Kanaʻinanui, 5th great granduncle.

John Mahiai Kaneakua

John Mahiai Kaneakua

John Mahiai Kaneakua was originally born as John Mahiai Miller. It is unsure exactly why John was hānai adopted by James Kaneakua. James and his mother are listed as holding land for John in the Great Mahele. He actually received his land and is still in the Kaneakua family. Of note...all of the Kaneakua's from John are blood descendants of the Millers.
